Associate Membership is for craft groups in Essex whose aims are similar to those of the Guild. They are invited to put on a display at the Guild's Annual Show. (Formerly The Old House Craft Circle) Hon. Secretary Mrs Lesley Robbins, 27 Whadden Chase, Ingatestone, Essex. CM4 9HF Tel: 01277 354142 The Brentwood and District Craft Society changed their name from The Old House Craft Circle in December 2002 as it better describes them.
They are a group of crafters covering a number of crafts who meet monthly, and
they currently meet in Brentwood. The group put on an annual show each
November at the Hutton Populars, which is situated on the main road out
of Shenfield High Street towards Billericay. This is a very well
supported event where they also raise funds for charity.

Affiliated to The Marquetry Society of Great Britain, the Chelmsford Marquetry Group was formed in 1984 and has won The Marquetry Society's National Group challenge Shield, their premier award, from 1987 to 1997 (a run of 11 consecutive years, and an all-time British record) and again in 2000 and 2001.
The Chelmsford Marquetry Group meets every Thursday evening (except for a two week christmas break) from 7pm - 10pm in Rooms 1-3 (ground Floor) at the Writtle Community Center, Longmeads House, Redwood Drive, Writtle, Essex. This is a turning off Ongar Road not far from the Village Green. There is ample free parking in the grounds. Please be advised that we normally hold our AGM on the 1st Thursday in February.

The Guild was invited to join The Essex Tourist Association, which we were pleased to do. The E.T.A.'s business is representing the county of Hidden Treasures.
This association was formed by a number of groups and visitor sites to help promote the sites and events of interest in the county. Further details of the Association can be found either by contacting the office below or by visiting their web site.
The Essex Torurism Association will once again be hosting the Tourism and Leisure Show at The Brentwood Centre on Thursday 22nd February 2007 at which The Guild will be promoted by members of the committee. For further details please go here
