The Guild welcomes applications for membership from those genuine crafters who design and make their own work & who also live or work in Essex, U.K. Membership is not considered for those who import or sell crafts made by others.
Applicants are invited to tender a selection of their work for viewing by a selection panel at the beginning of the Guild year in early April. The cut off date for applications each year is 14th February. The selection panel is made up of individuals from both inside and outside the Guild representing a wide range of specialist knowledge and craft disciplines.

New members are expected to attend the Guild's AGM, which is held at 7.30pm on the 2nd Thursday in May, where they are requested to display a selection of their work to the membership. They will also be presented with their membership packs which contains a number of publications to assist them with their craft.
